UV Laser Marking System for JEDEC Tray Processing and PCB Stripmaps

This laser marking system contains an ultraviolet (UV) laser and XY table for marking semiconductors, such as JEDEC matrix trays full of computer chips. Using our through the optics vision (TTOV) system, the camera shares the same optical lens as the laser beam in order to recognize board fiducial markers and orientation of parts. The laser is able to rotate the marking program based on the results of the vision system in order to properly align each marking on the semiconductor mold compound. By using machine vision, part orientation is no longer critical when inserting parts into the system.
