This system was built for laser etching stainless steel cliché plates using a 520nm femtosecond laser. The system features a z-axis laser with an off-axis vision system and XY table. These components are attached to a ridged granite support structure for long-lasting accuracy and repeatability. Using a focus depth probe, the system can easily calibrate focal depth for variances in plate heights. The use of an ultrafast laser allows pad printers to etch more detail with the best edge quality available.
